The Getty Museum's painting repeats a larger composition that Bouguereau made for the Paris \u003cspan class=\"text-link\" onclick=\"javascript:link(26, 1259, event);\"\u003eSalon\u003c\/span\u003e in 1880; a viewer probably saw the larger version there and requested a smaller one for private viewing.  \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Bouguereau placed his mythological fantasy in an idyllic, Arcadian landscape.
